Essays on Houdini’s life and work are accompanied by interviews with novelist E.L. Doctorow, Teller (of Penn and Teller), and contemporary artists including Matthew Barney (The Cremaster Cycle). The book also includes contributions by Houdini biographer Kenneth Silverman and the exhibit curator Brooke Kamin Rapaport.
Houdini: Art and Magic is funded through the Dorot Foundation publications endowment and co-published by The Jewish Museum and Yale University Press.
