Says David, "As a kid I had very little, and the world seemed hard. I hoped I could be strong enough to survive almost anything. So when I saw a picture of Houdini chained to the side of a building, I was drawn to this beautiful image of struggle, and it stayed with me forever."
For the record, I think David Blaine is terrific, and the closest performer we have today to Houdini. I also think he produces some of the most stunning magic posters in the business.
I missed it, but I'm sure it will re-air. I am so envious of Blaine's posters it isn't funny. Even before I liked the guy I bought his posters because they are so good. I think he's certainly captured the imagination of the today's audiences like Houdini, but in a different way. He's made unique place for himself with his endurance feats and I wish him all the success in the world.
