LINK: Houdini in San Diego

The blog San Diego Yesterday has a PDF download of an article from the San Diego Union-Tribune about Houdini's performances in that city in 1907. The article also notes that Houdini performed an underwater escape at McArthur Park in Los Angeles, something I never knew.

    Haven't seen that pic before. Love the way she's immaculate as usual and he looks like he's just done an upside down straitjacket escape. Hey, he probably had.

    It's a terrific pic. You MUST find a copy of Doug Henning's Houdini His Legend and His Magic, melbo. The book contains a full photo album filled with candid shots like this.
