The Great Canadian Theatre Company presents, The Shadow Cutter, the story of Ottawa-born sleight of hand master, Dai Vernon, who billed himself as "The Man Who Fooled Houdini."
Playwright Pierre Brault portrays Houdini opposite Andy Massingham who plays Vernon. (Not sure why Brault didn't pop on a wig for the role, but...okay.)

The show runs at the GCTC March 10-27 with two preview shows on March 8 and 9. Tickets are available at www.gctc.ca or by phone at 613-236-5196.
Judging from the back of the actor's head, it looks like the Vernon character is played as an old man.
ReplyDeleteClearly not a whole lot of thought went into these portrayals :)
