Here is the final and I think most sunning exhibitor ad for
The Master Mystery from the Arthur Moses Collection. I just love the whole mad scientist motif. One can be forgiven for mistaking this as a horror film -- a
Jekyll & Hyde or
Frankenstein circa 1918 if you will. But certainly this would appeal to the core audience of young movie serial watchers. In fact, these ads have put me in the mood to watch the movie again myself. A big thanks to Arthur Moses for sharing these wonderful rarities.

Very interesting that these were being sold on Houdini's name rather than the name of the movie. I noticed the second and third one you posted do not even have the movie name in them. But instead say "Houdini Serial" and use his name in bold letters.
ReplyDeleteWonderful stuff!
Hey, I didn't even notice that. The name of the film isn't even on these. Ha! Interesting. That's star power, baby!
