Check out this title sequence for the pilot of an unsold TV series, ESCAPE, starring Christopher George. It's a fusion of Houdini escapology and James Bondian action. This is a forerunner of Bill Bixby's The Magician, and fun stuff.
According to modcinema.com (where you can buy this on DVD) ESCAPE was originally aired as an ABC Movie of the Week on April 6, 1971. Did they realize the significance of that date, I wonder? Thanks to Steve Mollett at The Magic Cafe for the find.
