Skirball extends Masters of Illusion to Jan 8, 2012
While Houdini Art and Magic will leave the Los Angeles Skirball Cultural Center on Sept. 4 for its next stop in San Francisco, Masters of Illusion: Jewish Magicians of the Golden Age will remain. I've just received word that the exhibition has been extended through January 8, 2012.
This is great news as Masters of Illusion is a spectacular exhibition that's not to be missed. Along with the collection of posters, props, costumes and memorabilia of past magicians, there is a very good Houdini section, which contains some artifacts that are just as impressive as what can be seen in Houdini Art and Magic. In that category is Houdini's personal scrapbook devoted to his mother from the collection of John Gaughan. Hardeen also gets recognition in Masters of Illusion.
