Dean Carnegie of the blog Carnegie: Magic Detective is doing some very fine investigative work into the lost funeral films of Harry Kellar and The Great Lafayette, film which were commissioned by Houdini. Check out Dean's original post (which includes a very interesting comment by Gregory Edmonds) and his just posted follow-up.
Dean is also mounting an effort to clean up the grave of Robert Heller (something Houdini did in his own lifetime) on October 8, 2011. Click here to find out how you can participate in The October 8th Heller Project.
Thanks John! I just noticed my numbers shooting up really fast and then I saw the link you added. That explains the sudden rush to view the blog! Thanks also for the mention of the October 8th Heller Project. I have a feeling that may be the first of many such ventures.
ReplyDeleteGlad to help, Dean. Keep up the great work. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome to have such an interesting figure buried here in Mount MorIah and to think Houdini was a guest here. I found Mr. Heller's burial plot and it's going to take a little magic to improve it. Houdini had no clue that, as he stood next to Heller's stone, that people would one day say how fabulous it looked in those images. I look forward To meeting you Dean at the October clean up. Paulette will be contacting you.
ReplyDeleteTake Care,
Donna
