The Houdini Broadway musical has been on the ropes since last January when writer Aaron Sorkin left the project. Over the summer, star Hugh Jackman said that a December read through of the first act would decide the fate of the show.
Now Broadway.com reports that "the musical has disappeared from next year's lineup and is aiming to hit the Great White Way in the 2015-16 season. No official dates, theater or additional casting have yet been announced."
The Houdini musical has been in the works since 2008. Even though it has top talent involved -- music by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and director Jack O’Brien (Hairspray) -- it's starting to look less and less likely that we will see Hugh Jackman as Houdini on Broadway anytime soon, if ever.
