This is a nice booklet with interesting information. Houdini held back on performing the Milk Can until he was a few weeks into this Australian tour. It was like saving his best for last.

DeleteYes, because I got this booklet when it first came out as I was putting a lecture together on Houdini's Australian connection and concurrently with its purchase was doing my own research.

DeleteI went on the TROVE web site. Soooo many articles from the 1909-1910 time period regarding Houdini! Almost looks like they followed Houdinis every move...shows, airplane flights, challenges. Treasure trove of Houdini info.

That site is excellent. It was one of my sources for the Harry Houdin (19th century mimic) e-book I wrote last year.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see here...http://trove.nla.gov.au/general/completedlist TROVE became available in 2009 three years after I wrote the book. My original manuscript was 40,000 words but I had no interested publishers, so I had to cut it to 20,000 words.
