I always try to note important Houdini centenary anniversaries here at WAH, but this is one I would have missed if not for our friend Tom Interval and his superb Houdini Museum. Click on the headline to listen to the only known recording of Houdini's voice, made 100 years ago today on October 29, 1914 in Flatbush, New York.

Thanks for sharing, John!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure. It's fun to celebrate these 100 year anniversaries. However, I admit I'm at a loss for what we can mark in 2015.
ReplyDeleteIts nice to hear his voice.
ReplyDeleteI know it's a long shot, but has anything come up on Houdini's radio broadcast? It's frustrating to look at that radio microphone photo and imagine what he said.
ReplyDeleteNothing. :(
DeleteOf course, we have the full transcript of one of his broadcasts HERE.
