The photo below sold in
Haversat & Ewing Galleries Winter Auction today for $749 (including 17% premium). This is an unpublished shot of Houdini and Bess in Ceylon, which is today Sri Lanka. The Houdinis visited this and other exotic ports of call while en route to Australia in 1910. They look like a proper pair of colonialists, don't they? I love Harry's pith helmet.
