An original photo of Houdini and Charlie Chaplin sold on eBay this week for $550. The photo shows the two men in Los Angeles in 1915 when Houdini was making a Vaudeville tour of the U.S. A great image of two entertainment giants of the time.
On page 117 of Doug Henning's
Houdini His Legend and His Magic you can see a photo taken at this same time that includes Bess.
Congrats to the winner.

I'm sending this post to my friend, Patricia. She shares her birthday with Mr. Chaplin and I share mine with Mr. Houdini. We both are friends through our origami group here in Crossville, TN.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun coincidence. Hope she enjoys. :)
DeleteYep, she did!
DeleteIn Scranton in 1915 Houdini while on this vaudeville tour Houdini performed throughout Pennsylvania, including The Poli Theater here. A few years ago Dorothy Dietrich performed an escape and some magic at the same theater, and her name was featured on the marquee outside the building. It was all quite exciting!
