Houdini hangs in L.A. 94 years ago today

Check out this tweet from Esotouric's Lost LA (@esotouric). A sensational photo of Houdini's suspended straitjacket escape from the Examiner Building 94 years ago today.


The Examiner Building still stands and is currently undergoing a major renovation. Below are links with more info and images of this escape.

UPDATE: I recently uncovered some newspaper clippings that place this on April 4, not April 5.

      This would be a cool spot. Houdini's Orpheum is also right down the street.

      I'm hoping there will be a nod to Houdini in the renovation -- a nice photo of this event in the lobby or something.
