This vintage postcard sold on eBay yesterday for $1,522.44. Not only have I never seen this particular postcard before, but I've never seen this image of Houdini! Here he's holding the famous French Letter Cuff (now owned by Jon Oliver). According to the back, this postcard was made in Frankfort. No date, but certainly from the early Handcuff King days.
Congrats to the winner of this beauty.

What a great post card, never seen this image. It is unbelievable what else that comes up.
ReplyDeleteThe photo reminds me of the "Grim Game" photo of Houdini holding his outstretched manacled handcuffs in front of himself, along with a cocky facial expression that seems to playfully say: "You're kidding right?, you really think these cuffs are/were going to hold me?"
ReplyDeleteHaha! You're so right. :)
