Recently I was interviewed by Dash Finley for Dark Times: Unsolved Horrors and Mysteries. The interview was held in the Houdini Seance Room of the Magic Castle and aired yesterday on Facebook's
Super News Live. Dash had excellent questions and the interview was a lot of fun. Click below to watch. (It takes about 30 seconds to start.) Please give it a Like if you like!
Thanks to Dash Finley and Amanda Urrego. Also thanks to Ben Roman at the Magic Castle.

A fantastic job, John Cox.
ReplyDeleteA "MUST Watch" for any newbie wanting to learn about Houdini.
Thanks Joe. We did this before Friday lunch, week before last.
DeleteGreat interview. Informative, funny, relaxed. Excellent job!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Not perfect, but I'm getting better. Most of the interviews I've done are these one take, once through, every moment is used, and it's a challenge not to fumble. Last weekend I did a regular TV show interview with a full camera setup, etc. I found my experience doing these really helped. I think they were kinda amazed at how fast they got everything from me. Made me feel like a pro. :)
DeleteLet us know when the TV show interview airs.
ReplyDeleteWill do, but that's not going to be for a while.
DeleteFantastic! & I agree with you that the standard story about Houdini's death is most likely true. You have to remember that Walter Gibson was a close personal friend of theirs, & that's the story he always told in his books. Besides, the less dramatic & exciting is usually the way it happened. :)
ReplyDeleteTwo thumbs up! Highly recommend you check it out.
ReplyDeleteGreat job John. Your comment about Houdini starting to do more endurance stunts is very interesting. I wonder what other stunts he would have attempted if he had lived longer.

Thanks Jack.
DeleteI think frozen in ice would have been one of them. He always liked that idea and was working in it.
