From what I've read middle aged people don't usually get appendicitis. Harry was 52. It happens more often to the younger set up to their 20s. He was laying down in his dressing room catching up on his mail right before college students arrived. That doesn't sound like he was suffering from the beginnings of appendicitis.
The humor in this meme is the way both species are depicted. The human, a more intelligent life form looks out of control, while the cat remains calm and rational.
