As an aside, when Ken shows his playbill for Houdini's lecture at the White Theater, he says he doesn't know what town this was in. When I saw Ken's collection in 2018, this had me stumped as well. But I recently discovered that the White Theater was in Fresno, California. Houdini in Fresno! The theater stood until 1966.

The Fresno date goes in the Chronology? I attended Ken's lecture so thanks for posting the YT video.
ReplyDeleteOf course! I have many of his lectures in there.
DeleteThat was great! Thanks for sharing the link. He has an amazing collection and am so glad Fred Pittella arranged for us to see it in person in 2018.
ReplyDeleteVery enjoyable lecture, and the items from Ken's collection were really interesting. My favorite was the stunning cabinet card of Harry in profile that closed the lecture. Also the spiritualism-themed 1926 black and red program with the $10,000 challenge on the back (the red and black brought to mind Harry's red and black-striped pajamas!) Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteI own one of those "Beware" programs. I should share it here.
DeleteThat would be awesome, John. I'd love to take a closer look.
