Here's a telegram from Houdini's chief assistant Jim Collins sent on the evening of October 31, 1926.
Collins pretty much says it all. But if this still isn't enough for you, I've uploaded 26 newspaper front pages reporting Houdini's death to my Patreon.
The address it's being sent to appears to be 155 Washington St. Union City. "J Vickery" I'm assuming is Houdini's assistant James Vickery. This is probably his home.
BTW, I have no idea where I got this. It was just in my 1926 clippings file. If this is yours and you want credit or if you want me to take it down, contact me.
Do we know who lived at 417 Union Street in Union City NJ?
ReplyDeletePerry from NJ.
It looks like that's the address of the Western Union office.
DeleteThere may have been a skeleton crew working at the NJ film/magic prop building Houdini owned. Collins might have been wiring them updates.

That residence is now a huge Condo complex.
ReplyDeleteSo is Hardeen's Brooklyn Flatbush home. It's an apartment or condo complex.
