The Weiss family were members of Park East from its earliest days. Houdini's father, Rabbi Weiss, had a good relationship with Rabbi Drachman who led the synagogue for 55 years. In fact, Rabbi Drachman bar mitzvahed young Ehrich Weiss.
This event is open to members and non-members. For more information and to purchase tickets visit the Park East Synagogue website.
I wonder what will be on the menu: Paprika Chicken and bread pudding with bing cherries...
ReplyDeleteMaybe Farmers Chop Suey. :)
DeleteAnd that sugary abomination: Bread and butter custard. Lox & bagel, and pastrami sandwiches were also Houdini favorites.
DeleteIt will be probably be a traditional Shabbos dinner with "challah, gefilta fish, chopped liver, chicken, potato or lukshen Kugel, dessert?" However, since it is Chanukah, I would not be surprised to see potato latkes and 🍎 sauce? By the way, Leo Hevia, those "Houdini" dishes are favorites of mine but I like my pastrami cut lean on my sandwiches😋😂Benjilini🎩
ReplyDeleteNow I'm hungry. Off to Canter's Deli!
DeleteHey! How did this event go? Did anyone who posts here attend? Like Benjalini I also prefer lean cuts in my sandwiches.
ReplyDeleteBenjilini sent me a terrific report that I will be sharing on Tuesday.
DeleteOh that's wonderful! I'm dying to see the menu!
