There's a major relationship. Morris Young was Charlie Young's father! These handcuffs are real as well.
DeleteI remember reading that story somewhere. It was a pair of cuffs hanging over a doorway in the basement of Hardeen's Flatbush house. If I remember correctly, Hardeen's widow gave or sold them to Morris.
DeleteJust for additional information, Cheryl and I still have the handcuffs and yes, Hardeen's widow gave them to our Dad as a memento of the brothers. The article and cuffs were part of the inspiration for our book. The Linking Ring was kind to give us permission to reprint our Dad's article--which is included at the end of our book for all to read.
