The History Museum at the Castle is located at 330 E College Ave, Appleton, WI 54911-5715. Once the home of the Houdini Historical Center, the museum still has a dedicated Houdini exhibit and research archive.

My wife and I visited Appleton a few years ago. I never knew that the apartment where Houdini and his family lived as well as the synagogue Houdinis father presided over are still in existence. The synagogue was in fairly bad shape but undergoing renovation.
ReplyDeleteI believe they were building that new synagogue when Rabbi Weiss was there. Don't think he ever held a service there.
